Today starting with a long but interesting drive towards Charikot and to Jiri and continue drive to Shivalaya village, after few small stops on the winding dirt road from Jiri to first overnight stop at Shivalaya village, a moderate size village with fine lodges.
Starting the first day walk from Shivalaya to Bhandar on gradual trail with an hour slow climb to a small village of Sangbadanda, then a pleasant walk through farm villages and forest, after few hours of morning walk reaching at Deurali pass at 2, 715 meters, a break here for lunch and then downhill to Bhandar village for overnight stop, walk passes interesting Stupa (Buddhist monument) then through villages reaching at Bhandar or Chyangma village, village of mix tribe of people Tamang, Chettri, Newars, but predominantly Sherpa people.
Morning downhill walk into forest and farms through many farm villages to reach Kenja village, a lovely village, situated in a warm valley beneath high hills of Lamjura and Pikey danda ridges, from here views of Numbur peaks.
After Kenja, a steep climb to Sete village from here onwards temperature gets cooler with alpine forest of rhododendron and pine trees.
Starting morning walk with gentle uphill towards Lamjuta-la pass and then slow steep climb into forest passing small farm lands, this steady climb reaches at Lamjura pass the highest point before Khumbu area.
A long descend through forest of firs and rhododendron trees leads to Junbesi, a lovely large Sherpa village with monastery and a high school built by Sir Edmund Hillary Trust.
After a wonderful time at Junbesi, walk leads on winding path with glimpse of Mt. Everest, after few stops crossing a bridge with short climb to Ringmo village for lunch, after a break an hour climb into forested area reaching at Trakshindu at 3,070m marked with mani and chortens ( Buddhist prayer monuments) with grand views of Numbur, Kusum Kangguru, Thamersarkhu and Kantega peaks.
From here long descend to Nunthala reaching at the bottom of the hill, and then a short walk to Nuntahla also called Manidingma, a large village of Rai and Sherpa community.
From here onwards the temperature gets much cooler getting closer to Khumbu after being around Solu area, morning downhill walk to a bridge over Dudh Kosi River, from here on the winding uphill trail to Jubing village with warm climate.
After Jubing climb to Kharikhola, a large village of Sherpa and Magar tribe, after a break here climb towards next hill, after crossing a bridge to a steep climb for an hour to overnight stop at Bupsa a small village, located on a ridge with views of rolling hills and valleys.
From Bupsa a steady walk into Khumbu area as the air gets cooler from here onward, morning walk starts with a climb through mixed alpine forest.
Walk continues climbing over Kharte Dande pass at 3,880m above Dudh Kosi River to reach Puiyan villagea nice place in the middle of a forest.
From Puiyan on winding trail with view of Lukla town and its airstrip, walk descend to Surkhe village for overnight stop.
Morning on pleasant undulating trail close to Lukla, at Choplung village where trail from Lukla and Jiri joins, from here walk to Phakding for overnight stop, trek passes several villages and farm lands with landscape scenery to Phakding village by the Dudh Kosi (river).
After a pleasant stop at Phakding today heading to famous Namche Bazaar the main town of Sherpa of Khumbu region, walk leads on gradual undulating path crossing the same river few times and into cool shade of pine and rhododendron woodland.
On reaching entrance of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo and towards the last village of Jorsalle and continue walk on river banks, and then a long climb leading at Namche Bazaar for overnight stops.
At Namche for necessary acclimatization with rest day, before heading higher elevation to Everest base camp. Namche a colorful moderate town with shops, stores, banks and ATM with Cyber Café around, suggested short walk to the Park museum with great information of the area including grand vista of Mt. Everest and majestic Amadablam peak.
For energetic people can take a hike to Everest View hotel, Khumjung and Khunde village located on the glacial valley beneath holy Khumbi-la peak (patron of Khumbu Sherpa’s)
From Namche a pleasant walk for first half till lunch enjoying views of Everest, Kwangde, Tharmasarku, Amadablam, after crossing Imjatse river to Phunge-Tenga a small place with few small shops and lodges, after lunch 2 hours of climb through beautiful forest to overnight stop at Thyangboche monastery area.
A great scenic spot with views of surrounding high peaks, here with time to visit the monastery and monks, priest on prayer.
Catching the morning view of Everest and other peaks, walk starts on downhill to a bridge over Imjatse River, from here on leaving the forested area with gradual climb to Pangboche village at 3,900 meters, the last permanent village before Dingboche and beyond.
A slow climb leads to Somara for lunch and continue walk with last climb to Dingboche village for overnight stop, Dingboche located at Imjatse valley with panorama of mountains including North Face of Amadablam and Island Peak.
After Dingboche morning begins with steep climb for an hour commanding excellent vista, then on gentle trail most of the way to Thugla for lunch, where Khumbu glacier ends into a raging river, after a nice stop a steep uphill climb for an hour to Thulga pass with memorials of climbers who have died in climbing and mountaineering expeditions to Mt. Everest, Lhotse and other high mountains. From here a nice pleasant walk brings to Lobuche for overnight stop.
Today walk leads to our main destination to Everest Base Camp, walk leads with gentle up for few hours then with short climb in between to Gorakshep walking on glacier and moraine, on reaching Gorakshep beneath towering Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar.
Form here walk continues towards east to Everest Base Camp overlooking Khumbu glacier and the notorious Kuhmbu Ice Fall, after reaching at base camp with enjoyable walk, retrace the journey back to Goarkshep for overnight halt.
Morning hike to the top of Kalapathar at 5,545 meters the highest point of this adventure with tremendous views of surrounding snowcapped peaks including Mt. Everest at close distance standing beneath towering lofty peak of Pumori.
After a great moment return to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue walk to Thugla, from here on the new route towards Pheriche valley, descend to the valley can be windy in the afternoon after a nice pleasant walk reaching at Pheriche for overnight stop.
Return journey is much easier losing altitude every hour, walking downhill with few short ups to Pangboche and then walk to a bridge, from here a steep 2 hours climb to Thyangboche and back into tree lines to Thyangboche for overnight stop.
After a great time in the high mountains and Khumbu valley, walk descend to Imjatse river then a steep climb for an hour to Sanasa, from here on gradual path with short ups and downs to Namche Bazaar, a nice pleasant break here and back to Dudh Kosi river valley and to overnight stop at Monjo village near Sagarmatha National Park gate.
Morning walk on pleasant trail most of the way to reach at Phakding, from here retrace the journey to Lukla with a last climb for an hour, on reaching Lukla celebrate last night with fellow trekkers and staff including porters.
From Lukla taking an early morning flight back to Kathmandu with spectacular views of mountains, on reaching Kathmandu domestic airport, our staff transfers you back to hotel around Thamel area with rest of the day free at leisure.
We reserve this day in Kathmandu as contingency or spare day, in case of flight delay and cancellation due to unfavorable bad weather which might occur, as the Himalayan weather pattern can be unpredictable sometimes if all goes well have a free day or one can book for short sightseeing tour around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur.
